Local teachers toured the Grand Ridge Wind Energy Center on the SAI II Tour.

Summer Ag Institute II
In August fifteen local teachers participated in a new 4-day KCFB Ag Literacy tour exploring renewable energy and how it relates to agriculture. Teachers visited a number of sites from Pearl City to Aurora including an 100% farmer owned ethanol production facility, a wind energy farm and a dairy farm that uses a methane digester to generate electricity.

Tractor Raffle is Back!
The KCFB Foundation has brought back the Winner's Choice Tractor Raffle for 2011. This year's drawing will again have a Farm, Food & Fuel theme as well. Second prize is $1,000 in groceries, and third prize is $500 in fuel.

Tickets are $10 each and 3 for $25 and will be available in October, 2010 at the Farm Bureau office or from KCFB Directors. All proceeds help the Foundation provide scholarships to students pursuing degrees in agriculture, and to support ag literacy outreach in Kane County.

The Grand Prize in the 2011 KCFB Foundation Raffle will be winner's choice of this 1950 Farmall Cub, a new riding lawn mower, or $2,500 cash.

Provide Hunger Relief
Join thirty-four local farmers, agribusinesses & Farm Bureau members who have pledged crop proceeds, farm products, cash and volunteer labor to our 2010 Harvest for ALL hunger relief effort.  Help KCFB top last year's total of over $13,000 donated to local food pantries.
