Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised to support college scholarships and the education of Kane County youth about agriculture.

The Foundation Raffle originally started with an annual “Winner’s Choice” Tractor Raffle to raise money to fund college scholarship and agricultural literacy programs.  In 2007, the “winner’s choice” drawing for a 1953 Farmall Super H, a 2006 John Deere X324 4-Wheel Steer Lawn Tractor or $3,000 cash was held Saturday, March 31 at the Kane County Farm Bureau’s award winning Touch-a-Tractor event.  Second prize was a JD model JS40 7hp walk behind mower. The winner of the raffle in 2007 was Dan Hartmann, coincidentally one of our 2006 scholarship recipients.

The 2008 raffle choices were a restored 1952 John Deere B or a new Cub Cadet LT 1046 riding mower. Vicki Pelock was the Grand Prize winner on March, 29, 2008 at the Kane County Farm Bureau’s 3rd Annual Touch-a-Tractor Open House. Vicki chose the 1952 John Deere B.

Mike Probst of Elburn was named the grand prize winner in the Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation’s Truck Raffle in 2009.  Mike’s name was drawn from 1,719 entries at the conclusion of Farm Bureau’s Touch-A-Tractor event on March 29.  Given a choice of a brand new Chevrolet Silverado WT or $20,000 in cash, Mike chose the cash prize. Chris Gaitsch of Dundee was chosen as the second place winner of a shiny new John Deere Pedal Tractor. The raffle generated over $10,000 for college scholarship and agricultural literacy programs.

The 2010 Grand Prize was a brand new John
Deere Gator TS 4x2 or $5,000 in cash.

The 2010 KCFB Foundation’s Farm, Food & Fuel Raffle offered three great prizes. Grand prize was the winner's choice of a new John Deere Gator TS 4x2 or $5,000 in cash.  Second prize was $100 in groceries every week for a year.  Third prize was $50 in fuel each and every month for a year.

The Farm, Food & Fuel theme continued in 2011 and 2012. Grand prize options included a a restored 1950 Farmall Cub in 2011 and a 1957 Allis Chalmers WD-45 in 2012.

In 2013, in honor of KCFB's 100th Anniversary, the Foundation chose a grand prize with a rich history - a 1921 Ford Model T "Huckster" Produce Truck. Steve Miller of Streamwood was the big winner and chose this classic truck as his prize.
