Order Sweet Summer Peaches
Nothing beats the sweet taste of a juicy peach on a hot summer day. The Kane County Farm Bureau is taking orders for peaches, locally grown at Rendleman Orchards in southern Illinois. Peaches are picked at peak freshness, washed, hydro-cooled and packaged in a 25 pound wax coated box. What are you going to do with 25 pounds of peaches? Check out these recipe ideas. Agri-Quiz Bowl to be held at State Fair
The 2017 Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leaders Agri-Quiz Bowl will take place Tuesday, August 15th at the Illinois State Fair. The Agri-Quiz Bowl is for members, ages 18 to 35. The contest tests the knowledge of young farmers in subject areas like agriculture and Farm Bureau. Kane County will be represented by one team made up of 4 members. KCFB contributes to CHAL for challenge grant
The Kane County Farm Bureau has announced its support for the challenge issued to Garfield Farm Museum’s Campton Historic Agricultural Lands (CHAL). CHAL has been “challenged” to raise $7,000 to receive a $21,000 Stewardship Grant. The $500 contribution from the Farm Bureau is part of an effort to help CHAL meet a challenge grant goal set by the Illinois Clean Energy Foundation. It will be used to help restore lands held by CHAL to their original state.
